Are you passionate about writing for television and streamers? Media professionals with a talent for writing and a passion for serial formats can apply for the international MA Serial Storytelling programme until 6 January 2025. Focusing on both local and international series markets, this intensive two-year master's degree programme combines story development skills, collaboration techniques (»Writers’ Room«), and the innovative approach of artistic research. On 27 November, we invite you to the online info event via Zoom – with Prof. Dr. Joachim Friedmann, ifs student Anna Richards and our alumni Ljubica Lukovic and Michael Grießler. We will provide information about the application procedure, the content and structure of the programme and answer questions. This event will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of this two-year programme, featuring perspectives from current students, faculty, and successful alums.

Anna Richards, a producer and writer from the USA – and a current student in the MA Serial Storytelling programme –, will share her experiences and how the programme has influenced her writing journey. Learn about the curriculum, mentorship, and collaborative environment that have helped her develop her skills and prepare for a career in series writing.
You’ll also hear from Prof. Dr. Joachim Friedmann, the programme’s current lead professor, who will give an overview of the MA in Serial Storytelling. Discover the unique aspects of the programme, its innovative approach to storytelling, and how it equips students with the necessary tools and knowledge to thrive in the competitive world of television and digital series.
Our event will also feature two successful alumni:
•    Michael Griessler (Austria), known for his work on »SOKO Wien/Vienna Crime Squad« and winner of the pitch competition at Seriesly Berlin, will discuss his career path, the challenges he faced, and how the MA programme helped him navigate the industry and achieve success.
•    Ljubica Lukovic (Serbia), co-creator of the CanneSeries Audience Award-winning series »Kljun/Awake«, will share her journey from master’s student to professional series writer, highlighting the skills and connections she gained through the programme.
